Marees builds largest branch of carwash formula WashKing on A7 motorway in Zwaag

Gas station and carwash company Marees is building the seventh branch of its in-house developed carwash formula WashKing on the Zevenhuis industrial estate in Zwaag (NH). The new car wash will be the formula’s largest and will be built next to the Avia petrol station on Zevenhuis.
The new WashKing will have 14 wash bays, three rollovers and several vacuuming areas, making it the formula’s largest car wash location in the Netherlands. Construction has already started on Zevenhuis, the industrial estate directly adjacent to the A7 motorway just north of Hoorn. Sustainability plays an important role at the new car wash, with advanced water recycling, solar energy linked to battery storage and innovative installations that minimise consumption and maximise recycling. At the new location, family-owned Marees says it is combining economies of scale with environmentally friendly technologies.
The first carwash under the WashKing banner opened in 2022 at Zuidkaap in Andijk. It was followed by branches in Medemblik, Callantsoog, Wieringerwerf, Hoogwoud and Purmerend. Marees family business has existed since 1922 and has more than 60 filling stations, mainly in the provinces of North Holland and Friesland.
