Aers Group acquires BP petrol station from Lagendijk and turns it into Esso

Aers Group is expanding its network of filling stations. The Aardenburg-based family business has acquired BP ‘De Watertoren’ on Korteweegje in Dirksland, South Holland. From 1 July, the manned station will display Esso colours.
The manned filling station previously belonged to Rotterdam-based Lagendijk Tankstations and the acquisition brings Aers Group to a total of ten filling stations. The location offers all known fuels, LPG and a washing hall. There are also wash bays, a textile laundrette and trailer rental. According to Aers, the acquisition is “a logical step” in the company’s mission to make mobility smarter and more sustainable. With the change of colour from BP to Esso, Aers promises ‘more sustainable energy and the familiar facilities’ at the refuelling location. Consumers can also continue to use their BP pass to refuel and wash. A night vending machine will enable 24/7 refuelling and checkout.

The acquisition brings Aers Group to a total network of ten of its own filling stations, of which the manned filling station with bakery in IJzendijke is the largest. There are also two manned and seven unmanned filling stations. The eleventh, a manned mobility hub where trucks can refuel, load and park, is under construction on the A11, exit 19 in Zeebrugge, Belgium. Aers Truckplaza should open its doors in spring 2026.
