Fastned expands offering with shops and toilets at five fast-charging stations

Fastned is expanding its services by building shops with sanitary facilities at five existing fast-charging stations along Flemish motorways. Two fast-charging stations in Peutie (E19), two in Everberg (E40) and one in Walshoutem (E40, towards Brussels) will get these new facilities.
The fast-charging company says the new shops with toilets fit within its strategy to “always create the best charging experience”. Apart from fast charging, travellers will soon be able to relax, use sanitary facilities and enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack. Katrien Vandenhecke, Senior Programme Manager at Fastned: “The availability of fast chargers is important, but the quality of the charging experience counts just as much. With our new Fastned shops, we are taking motorway facilities to the next level. At Fastned, the ultimate charging experience is not only about charging your car, but also about charging travellers. So they can continue their journey in comfort and with new energy.”
Building with sustainable materials
The permit for construction has been granted by the Flemish Roads and Traffic Agency (AWV). The stations in Peutie and Everberg will have manned shops, while Walshoutem will have an unmanned kiosk with vending machines. Construction will be done with sustainable materials and the opening is scheduled for 2026.
