Spetters Carwash continues to grow with acquisition of locations in Nijkerk and Oosterhout: ‘Strategic addition’

Spetters Carwash has expanded its network with two new branches. From 15 May, De Karwas in Oosterhout, Gelderland, was taken over and from 1 June, Riwash in Nijkerk was added to the formula. With this, Spetters Carwash is growing to four locations in the Netherlands in a short time.
According to Spetters Carwash, the expansion fits in with the company’s ambition to grow into a professional, recognisable carwash formula with strong regional locations. The formula focuses on personal service, customer experience and local bonding. The now-acquired De Karwas is located directly on the A15 motorway, at a prominent high-profile location next to Subway, Fat Phill’s, McDonald’s and Shell, among others. The location boasts a 31-metre-long Istobal car wash with Dr Stöcker’s chemistry, a large vacuum square from Ergox and an experienced team that has been operating at the site for some time.
Strong addition
“For us, Oosterhout is a strong strategic addition,” says Marlous van Laar of Spetters Carwash. “The location, the quality of the facility and the existing team fit well with the direction in which we are growing. Moreover, Oosterhout is a short distance from our facility in Tiel, making us operationally stronger and allowing us to deploy staff, knowledge and experience across multiple locations.”
The Riwash in Nijkerk will also become part of Spetters Carwash. This location is known as the car wash at RIWAX Netherlands’ Experience Center. Stotz’ 23-metre chain conveyor was rebuilt from scratch about 2.5 years ago. In addition, the location has a wash bay, hoover square and four polishing halls for interior cleaning, aimed at the business market in the vicinity. According to Spetters Carwash, Nijkerk also offers a lot of growth potential. The location is surrounded by car companies and has facilities that allow the formula to expand further.
Growth possible
“We specifically look at locations where a strong base is present, but where there is still clear growth potential with our approach,” says Van Laar. “In Nijkerk, we see opportunities to further professionalise the appearance, service and total carwash experience and thus attract a broader customer group. The carwash market is in full swing and we see many opportunities in it. We are growing consciously, but in a way that suits us. We are looking at locations with potential, at teams that want to deliver quality and at places where we can really add something with Spetters. Not by changing everything, but by building on what we already have and strengthening it further. This is how we continue to build a strong carwash formula step by step,” says Van Laar.
The rebranding of both locations will take place in the coming weeks. This will involve phasing in the Spetters look and feel of the branches. At the same time, the local strength of the existing teams and customer relationships will be maintained.
