‘Energyvision gets largest share of Flemish charging station concession’

The Flemish government’s Department of Mobility and Public Works has largely awarded the concession for public AC charging posts in Flanders to EnergyVision. The company will be responsible for the rollout, operation, financing and maintenance of over 5,200 charging stations in total.
The new concession covers some 8000 charging points in total and concerns lots 2 (VVRs Leuven and Vlaamse Rand), 3 (VVRs Antwerp, Mechelen and Kempen) and 4 (VVRs Ghent, Flemish Ardennes, Waasland and Aalst). EnergyVision, a supplier of (solar) energy and mobility-as-a-service solutions, will operate 66% of the entire concession, representing 5,280 charging points. The company will thus become the main operator within the new Flemish network of public charging stations. TotalEnergies won the tender for the installation of 1,360 new public charging points. Who will take care of the remaining 1,360 charging points is not yet known.
Cheapest
“We are extremely happy to have won this award on both price and quality,” says EnergyVision ceo Maarten Michielssens. “We want to show every Fleming that green energy is the cheapest. We look forward to working with the Flemish government and local authorities to roll out this network.”
With the award, EnergyVision far exceeds its previous medium-term targets for the number of charging points in Belgium. The new Flemish concession comes on top of previous major concessions, including that of NMBS for the roll-out of public charging points in its car parks. As a result of this additional contract, EnergyVision will revise upwards its growth plans and targets for the coming years.
