Grant provides four hydrogen refuelling stations and over three hundred hydrogen vehicles
Eight partnerships will receive a total of 40 million euros in subsidies for the construction and expansion of hydrogen filling stations and for the purchase of hydrogen-powered trucks and passenger buses. The projects are supported from the Subsidieregeling Waterstof in Mobiliteit (SWiM) of the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO).
With the budget from the application period earlier this year, eight partnerships will start expanding the hydrogen network on the road. There will be a total of four new hydrogen filling stations: in Meerkerk and Hattemerbroek under the name Fountain Fuel, in Steenwijk by Fieten Olie and in Woerden by DiVers Woerden Waterstof BV.
Existing filling stations in four other municipalities are also expanding with hydrogen refuelling options. These include Fountain Fuel in Amersfoort, Hysolar in Nieuwegein and Teal Mobility, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Air Liquide, in Deventer and Utrecht.

Vehicles
The partnerships also applied for subsidies for a total of 355 hydrogen-powered vehicles. These are mostly heavy goods vehicles, but also some passenger buses.
According to the RVO, the SWiM contributes to the obligation to have a hydrogen refuelling station in every urban hub by 2030. There are currently 23 public hydrogen refuelling stations in the Netherlands, some of which are suitable for heavy road transport. Entrepreneurs are expected to be able to reapply for the SWiM in the second quarter of 2026. After that, the subsidy will open for new applications annually until 2029.
