Avia Haarhuis starts anniversary month with free fuel promotion

Avia Haarhuis is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. To celebrate this, the filling station in Westerhaar-Vriezenveensewijk held a special promotion on 1 October. From 5 pm onwards, the first 45 customers could fill up here for free.
More than an hour in advance, the first customers were present for the action, Avia Haarhuis informs. “The promotion had been communicated two days in advance via social media. We didn’t want to announce it too grandly, because we had learned from other people’s experience that this could cause complete traffic chaos. We wanted to avoid that and we succeeded. It has been a nice success.”
To make the action safe and fair, some conditions applied. Access to the station during the promotion was only possible via Schuineweg, and refuelling could only take place directly into the vehicle’s fuel tank. The maximum amount of free fuel per customer was 75 euros.
Twente family business
Avia Haarhuis has been operating in Westerhaar-Vriezenveensewijk for 45 years. The station is part of Avia Weghorst, a Twents family business that has been active as a fuel supplier for more than 90 years. Besides regular and sustainable fuels, the company also offers electric charging facilities through Avia Volt and invests in future-proof mobility. During the month of October, the filling station is organising various promotions, where customers have a chance to win prizes and extra benefits.
