Dutch Rolande reopens bio-LNG filling station in Germany: ‘Valuable link’

Dutch company Rolande has opened a bio-LNG truck filling station on the A92 motorway in Wörth an der Isar, Germany, 75 kilometres northeast of Munich. It is the Tilburg-based company’s tenth refuelling location in Germany.
The station is located directly on the A92 motorway. According to Rolande, this is an important east-west connection in southern Germany and provides access to important industrial and logistics areas. According to the company, the filling station targets transport companies, fleet managers and companies with their own logistics operations looking for a readily available, economical and scalable solution for CO2 reduction, independent of government subsidies.
With the new filling station, Rolande is expanding its European network of filling stations and strengthening its delivery capacity in southern Germany in particular. The station is open 24/7, equipped with two pumps and suitable for all LNG-compatible trucks. Wide lanes, the necessary manoeuvring space and a self-service concept should ensure fast and safe handling.
Concrete steps
“With our new bio-LNG station on the A92, we are creating a valuable link in our network of almost two hundred bio-LNG stations in Germany,” says Rolande’s ceo Jolon van der Schuit. “This location fills an important gap in international transport corridors and makes it easier for drivers of bio-LNG trucks to cover routes to Austria, the Czech Republic and south-eastern Europe with the cleanest fuel available. With this, we strengthen and support the sector in taking concrete steps towards truly sustainable transport.”
Bio-LNG is a completely fossil-free fuel produced from organic waste products such as manure or food waste. It allows freight transport to achieve up to 100 per cent CO2 reductions compared to diesel.
Rolande is an international supplier of bio-LNG. It operates 27 of its own filling stations in Europe and has a network of nearly 200 filling sites through partners. The aim of the Tilburg-based company is to make heavy transport ready for the future with clean, available and economical fuels.
