Porsche drivers do not charge among the public, but at the ‘Porsche Charging Lounge’

‘An exclusive public charging experience’, with access to ‘a premium lounge’ containing ‘spotless toilets, seating area, snack machine and coffee corner’. That promises the ‘Porsche Charging Lounge’ where owners of an electric car of this brand can charge. There are now 10 such charging spots, but there should be more soon.
Owners of an electric Porsche can now charge their car at one of ten ‘Porsche Charging Points’. Eight of them are located on busy motorways in Germany, the other two in Austria and Switzerland. According to the car brand, Porsche drivers get an ‘exclusive premium public charging experience’ at the charging locations. Located on major traffic routes, the charging stations offer covered, sustainably built fast charging stations that are accessible 24/7 and provide access to a premium lounge. Here, electric drivers of the car brand will have ‘spotless toilets’, snacks, coffee, free Wi-Fi, security and ‘relaxation options’ at their disposal. All this to ‘continue the journey as relaxed as possible’.
Configurator
The lounge also houses a configurator where customers can already pick out their next Porsche while charging.
A charging station offers six HPC charging points with a capacity of up to 400 kW, even when six cars are simultaneously charging at full power.
A barrier ensures that only electric Porsche owners who have signed up for the service via an app can access the location. At the charging stations, the car brand promises always space, no queue and the best charging experience. Most Porsche electric cars and plug-in hybrids can use the service free of charge for the first three years. Charging rates at the charging station are “favourable”, according to the car brand.
Porsche plans to expand its own charging network further across Europe, preferably on major European travel routes.
Charging experience
Improving the ‘charging experience’ is high on the agenda of many charging facility providers. For example, fast-charging company Fastned offers manned kiosks at a growing number of charging locations, where EV owners can avail of food and drink and toilet facilities.
