Gerbert Vissers succeeds Rob van Herpen as chairman of purchasing organisation GemaQ: ‘Building further together’

A board change has taken place within purchasing cooperative GemaQ. Rob van Herpen, one of the founders of the purchasing organisation and chairman since 2017, is handing over the chairmanship to Gerbert Vissers, owner and director of Vissers Energy Group from Horst in Limburg.
Van Herpen was at the cradle of GemaQ and in recent years has played an important role in developing the association into the leading purchasing cooperative that it is today. Under his chairmanship, GemaQ has continued to professionalise, its membership has grown and valuable collaborations within the sector have been established. Earlier this year, Van Herpen sold his company Hanex Petrol Stations, good for 15 petrol stations in the Brabant region, to Circle K. A reason for Van Herpen to hand over the role of chairman.
The new chairman, Gerbert Vissers, owner and director of Vissers Energy Group, has been part of GemaQ’s board since 2015. With his extensive experience and long-term involvement with GemaQ, he brings both continuity and a fresh perspective to the future of the cooperative, according to the organisation. “I am proud of what we have achieved together and confidently hand over the baton to Gerbert,” Van Herpen said. “GemaQ is in good hands.”
“After ten years on the board, it is an honour to take on this role,” Gerbert Vissers said. “I look forward to continuing to build, together with our members, on GemaQ’s position and ensure its future sustainability.”
