First an Esso, then a BP Express and now the petrol station in Breda has been upgraded to Argos
The unmanned BP Express filling station on the Oosterhoutseweg in Breda-Teteringen opened in Argos colours this week after a major refurbishment. The filling station in the town in Brabant has had a turbulent history.
For years an Esso, the station closed its doors in 2008. After almost four years of vacancy, in spring 2012 the municipality of Breda gave BP permission to open a new filling station there. This was opposed by local residents on the grounds that there was no need for a petrol station at the location and that it was too close to homes. New research by the municipality and stricter regulations ensured that BP Express Teteringen could open its doors in August 2012 after all.
Now, thirteen years later, the filling station has become part of Varo Energy’s network and the location shows off the look of Argos from this week. According to Varo Energy, the newest addition displays itself ‘sleekly in the Argos style’ and the filling station is ‘ready for everyone who likes to fill up cheaply and close by’. Argos petrol station Teteringen offers Euro 95 and diesel at the pump. An ATM ensures that refuelling is possible 24/7 at the location.
Argos has been part of Rotterdam-based Varo Energy since September 2015. The Netherlands has over two hundred filling stations in Argos’ colours. The vast majority of these are unmanned.
