Drenthe town of Dalen gets sustainable refuelling and charging station in Avia colours
On the N854 in Dalen, Drenthe, a new manned petrol station is to be built including charging stations and, at a later date, also with catering facilities, a workplace, terrace, car wash and car pool area. According to the initiators, it will be a ‘sustainable’ filling station and will take on the colours of Avia.
Avia previously had an unmanned Avia XPress on Emmerweg in Dalen, but it was recently demolished to make way for housing development. Now there is talk of a new sustainable manned petrol station on Burgemeester Fonteinstraat, near the slip road to the N34 that will have the look and feel of Avia. Residents can attend a walk-in evening on 22 September where the plans developed jointly by Koers-Vast, Avia and Trovis Architecture will be explained.
Eight pumps
The new Avia at the entrance to Dalen is to have eight pumps and a charging plaza for electric cars. In the longer term, there should also be a flexi-working area with a simple catering facility and a carpooling area. There are also plans for a sustainable car wash station. According to the initiators, the petrol station will have a “green and sustainable character”, including a canopy with vegetation and solar panels for the power supply. The new filling, loading and car wash station is to be realised in phases.
