Shell gas station Wilnis officially open at the end of September with Tony’s shop, car wash and wash boxes

The Shell filling station on the Mijdrechtse Dwarsweg in Wilnis, Utrecht, will officially open its doors on 26 September. After months of renovation, the site now offers a Tony’s Street Food tankshop, staffed car wash and wash boxes. Charging facilities will follow at a later date.
The filling station has changed from a regular Shell with shop in the same colours to a service station with a Tony’s Street Food, De Haan Tankstations’ shop formula, in the first half of 2025. In addition, the location offers a manned car wash and several wash boxes. With the renovation, the filling station at the Mijdrecht-Wilnis business park has become a service station ‘where refuelling, eating and relaxing are central’, reports De Haan. The shop formula Tony’s Street Food, developed in-house by De Haan, offers a bakery, a so-called ‘food wall’ with snacks, barista coffee, seating and toilets.
The various service elements have been realised at the site in phases to allow the filling station to remain open to refuelling customers during the refurbishment. Several (quick) chargers for passenger cars will also be built at the location in the later term for charging.
De Haan Tankstations operates a network of around 180 filling stations in the Netherlands. These operate under the Haan, Shell, BP and Esso brand names.
