EG Group realises first Go Fresh Foodbar in the Netherlands at Gr8 Hotel Breda

EG Group, operator of over 350 Esso and Texaco petrol stations in the Benelux, is realising a Go Fresh Foodbar at the Gr8 Hotel in Breda, the first in the Netherlands. Hotel guests, visitors to the business park and local residents will be able to go there daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner from the end of August. With this, EG Group introduces the first catering operation outside the petrol station sector.
The Go Fresh Foodbar will be located on the Bagven in Breda, a stone’s throw from the Princeville interchange, at the junction of the A58 and A16 motorways. From next August, the Go Fresh Foodbar should be located on the ground floor of the building which, together with the Gr8 hotel, also houses EG Group’s new European headquarters. The food and beverage venue should be 110 seats large, divided between a restaurant, lounge and bar. There will also be a boardroom for meetings for up to 40 people. According to the initiators, the menu will feature “accessible dishes with a fresh twist”. For hot and cold drinks, there are collaborations with Lavazza, Coca-Cola and Heineken, among others.
Nice step
EG Group calls the realisation of the first Go Fresh Foodbar ‘a nice step to further expand the Go Fresh formula’. With this, the company introduces the first catering operation outside the familiar petrol station business. It not only marks the evolution of the Go Fresh brand, but also underlines EG Group’s ambition to become a broader player in foodservice.
Inspiration
The realisation of the Go Fresh Foodbar is part of the renewal operation with the coffee offering that EG Group is currently implementing in 267 Esso petrol stations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. In it, the company says it wants to “take the quality, brand experience, machines, signing and back office of the coffee it has in its petrol stations to the next level”. The Go Fresh Lavazza Coffee Kiosk opened at Esso ‘Honswijck’ on the A1 motorway near Muiden at the beginning of May, EG Group says it is taking inspiration from the upcoming Go Fresh Foodbar in Breda.
Together, the Netherlands and Belgium currently count 75 petrol station locations with a Go Fresh bakery.
