Mobility Energy Congress: Roadmap to 2035
Three weeks to go and then Jaarbeurs Utrecht will once again open its doors for the third edition of the Mobility Energy Expo. For the first time, the event will also host the Mobility Energy Congress, with the central theme: Roadmap to 2035.
Jaarbeurs Utrecht will be the venue on 12 and 13 November for the third year in a row for the Mobility Energy Expo, a major event for the filling station industry in the Netherlands and Belgium. It will focus on refuelling, charging, retail, mobility and carwash. On the exhibition floor, visitors will be taken through the latest developments and innovations within the industry.
First edition conference
On the second day of the fair, on Thursday morning 13 November, the first edition of the Mobility Energy Congress will take place. This knowledge event, developed for entrepreneurs, decision-makers and professionals within the world of petrol stations and mobility, will focus on the Roadmap to 2035. That is the year when a European ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars will come into force.
In a compact morning, visitors will be taken through the Roadmap to 2035, led by Mobility Energy editor-in-chief Luberto van Buiten. It will include an informative session by Martijn Repko, country director of Fastned. As a petrol station operator, do you opt for charging infrastructure – yes or no? Repko shares insights from practice and his vision on the changing role of energy suppliers in the streets. He zooms in on opportunities and pitfalls for traditional players in a market where electric charging is gaining ground. Is investing in on-site fast charging a logical step? Or are other routes possible towards 2035?
Another speaker at the Mobility Energy Congress is Sarah Pillen, retail director at Q8. In her session ‘Manned or unmanned – what does the petrol station of the future look like?’, she gives her vision on the future of the manned petrol station and the choices entrepreneurs face. As the rise of unmanned filling stations continues, but at the same time there remains a need for service, experience and personal contact.
Furthermore, Jacobjan Vermeiden (MAN Truck & Bus), Stephan Bredewold (Fountain Fuel) and Robert Goevaers (Platform Groen Gas) will discuss the role of hydrogen in mobility.
Workshops
Various workshops and presentations will also be organised in two different theatres during both days of the fair. The Mobility Energy Theatre focuses on the mobility side, with sessions on topics such as refuelling (including alternative fuels), carwash, shop and retail concepts, marketing strategies and loyalty programmes. In the Energy Theatre, organised in cooperation with Fleet Expo, the focus is entirely on the energy transition. It will cover topics such as charging and charging infrastructure, smart charging, energy management, business electric driving, fleet management and current developments in policy, subsidies and regulations.
